FDP Executive Committee Passes Unity Resolution

The Florida Democratic Party held a State Executive Committee Meeting in Orlando on Saturday, February 9, 2019.  One of the activities of the governing body was to pass a Unity Resolution of the Florida Democratic Party.

Unity Resolution of the Florida Democratic Party

WHEREAS, “true unity” offers more progress than all other planning combined.

WHEREAS, 67 county DECs united and focused on electing Democrats will likely do so; planting seeds of doubt and discourse serves none in this mission.

WHEREAS, we believe unity is, in fact, the solution to all of our problems, both real and manufactured; that our primary purpose is to elect Democrats and therein this should be the focus in words and deeds.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as the elected governance body of State Committee Men/Women, Elected Officials, Elected Officers of the Party, Clubs, and Caucuses hereby stand united to work to honestly correct real issues and address true problems that may pose a threat to electing Democrats (our very purpose).  We further stand in unity ready and dedicated to work together from big, small, and medium-sized counties, aware of affirmative action and inclusion and diversity goals and from all spectrums of our Democratic Party.  We are one and will move forward strongly united as one.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the members of the Florida Democratic Party support our leadership and our grassroots activists across the state who have our support and commitment in the cause of electing Democrats from this 9thday of February 2019 forward, so say we all.
