Florida Democratic Party Chair Thanks Democrats for Their Hard Work
I want to take a moment to thank you.
Because of you, we pulled off a historic victory for Nikki Fried, flipped two congressional districts and a state Senate seat, and won seven state House seats. And by turning out a record number of Democrats, we were able to flip dozens of county and municipal races across the state.
In addition, we celebrate Second Chances and the major victory in restoring voting rights for more than one million non-violent offenders who have served their time.
For the countless volunteers, donors, and supporters that make our work possible: We’re so grateful that you stand with us.
While we had a great many wins — and we need to celebrate those — we acknowledge that Andrew Gillum and Bill Nelson’s losses are heartbreaking. But thanks to their campaigns, we’ve seen people and communities make their voices heard, in some cases for the first time. That’s powerful, and that’s the energy and attitude we must continue to foster.
We won’t quit. We’ll roll up our sleeves and continue our work to make a better Florida for all of us.
