Florida legislators are expected to vote this October on redoing the census (just five years after the last one), despite the fact that it’s traditionally conducted every ten years. Census data shapes our election districts, and a mid-decade redo isn’t just unnecessary, it’s incredibly costly. The GOP may be eager to use taxpayer dollars to eliminate blue districts, but Florida is not Texas. We won’t stand by while our maps are blatantly manipulated.
