May Day Protest

This May Day, workers, neighbors, and community members are gathering to demand dignity, fair treatment, and an economy that values the people who keep it running. Across the country, billionaire influence in government and oligarchic power among wealthy political allies of the Trump administration have shaped policies that favor the ultra‑rich over the working class. This demonstration adds Vero Beach to that national conversation.

-WHERE: Sidewalks along State Road 60 heading west, beginning at the Wells Fargo & CVS area

-WHEN:  Friday, May 1st 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

-WHO: Protest partners TBA all community members welcome

Workers in the main shopping district where the demonstration is being held are especially encouraged to walk out and join us outside

If you would like to join the planning coalition as yourself or with an organization, or would like more info, please email us at [email protected]

About This Action

May Day has long been a global day of action for working people and a moment to call out economic inequality, unsafe workplaces, and systems that concentrate power in the hands of a wealthy few.

This demonstration builds on those themes, emphasizing:

-Fair treatment, living wages, and safe workplaces

-Opposition to economic systems that prioritize billionaire donors over everyday workers

-Solidarity across industries, backgrounds, and job types

-Visibility for the workers who keep Vero Beach and Indian River County running

-Collective action as a counterweight to concentrated wealth and political power

By gathering along SR‑60 (right in the heart of the local workday) we’re making visible the people whose labor sustains this community. Whether you’re walking out, joining after your shift, or showing up in solidarity, your presence strengthens the message.

This is a peaceful, public, community‑centered demonstration focused on visibility, unity, and shared purpose.
