Coffee and Culture Workshop

September 21, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Join the Young Democrats of Indian River at Headquarters (2706 20th St) as we kick off Latine Heritage Month with a hands-on Mola Art Workshop (Sunday, September 21st | 9:00AM). Together, we’ll explore this vibrant textile tradition and create pieces that will be featured in a special installation in our office.

This event is one of many ways we’ll be celebrating the diverse cultures, histories, and contributions of the Latine community throughout the month. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
About Mola Art
Mola is a traditional textile art form created by the Guna people, an Indigenous group from present-day Panama and Colombia. Historically crafted by Guna women, Mola designs are hand-sewn into layered fabrics and often incorporated into clothing. These intricate works are not only visually stunning; they also carry deep cultural significance and stories passed down through generations.
We look forward to honoring this beautiful tradition and the broader Latine diaspora with you.
