ELECTIONS OFFICE TO OFFER CANDIDATE WORKSHOP

Indian River County, FL – Interested in running for office? Before campaign season heats up, learn what it takes to become a candidate. Indian River County Supervisor of Elections will offer a Candidate Workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 from 9-11 a.m. at the Supervisor of Elections Office located at 4375 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach.

The two-hour program focuses on the fundamentals of filing to become a candidate and introduces participants to candidate qualifying, campaign finance, political advertising, and ethical conduct, among other important topics. The workshop is open to candidates, campaign managers, campaign treasurers and members of the public.

“Election laws are constantly changing, and it is imperative that candidates are familiar with new legislation whether a first time candidate or a long-standing incumbent,” said Supervisor of Elections, Leslie Swan. Federal, Judicial, State Attorney, and Public Defender candidate qualifying will take place the week of April 30 thru May 4. Qualifying week for all other candidates will be available from June 18-22.
