Since Hurricane Irma put a damper on the three-day conference scheduled for last month, the annual convention of the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida has been rescheduled for Nov. 4 in Orlando.
Several members of the DWC of Indian River County will be attending, and all members are invited to the meeting.
The convention is being held at the Frontline Community Center, 3000 C.R. Smith Street. Attendees will vote on resolutions, bylaws and rules, as well as new officers and region chairs. Region training workshops and the installation of officers are also planned.
The cost of registration is $25 and includes an awards luncheon. Participants are urged to bring their own water and morning drinks. Soda is included with lunch. Dress code is business casual.
Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and all members must be in the meeting room by 8:15 a.m. The doors will close at that time. The convention is scheduled to end at 4:30 p.m. with a club banner parade.
To attend the convention club members must send a $25 check payable to DWC of Indian River County as soon as possible to treasurer Rayma Kreider, P.O. Box 643846, Vero Beach, FL 32964. The deadline for the clubs to register members is Oct. 20.
