Holiday Fun at the Democratic Women’s Club Luncheon

Democratic Women’s Club Holds Annual Holiday Luncheon

Celebrating the season, the Democratic Women’s Club of Indian River County held its annual holiday party December 8 at the Grand Harbor clubhouse.  President Lanie Frame and member Sharon Kolor set the holiday theme of giving by recognizing volunteers who gave their time and money in the November election.

The program featured music by the Friends & Neighbors band. The group’s laidback sound originated from their early informal jam sessions in a Vero Beach neighborhood.

The four performers played covers of rock legends Ricky Nelson, Eric Clapton, the Doobie Brothers and the Bee Gees. They ended their acoustic set with the appropo  “Blue Christmas” by Elvis Presley.

As part of the festivities, the club raffled donated eight gift baskets. The raffle raised $352 for a local worthy family.

The next monthly luncheon meeting of the Democratic Women’ s Club will be held Jan. 12 at the Grand Harbor clubhouse.
