“The Future is: NOW” Art Exhibit

On Friday, June 2 the Young Democrats of Indian River hosted “The Future is: NOW” art exhibit at Raw Space Art Gallery.
Despite the unrelenting rain, the First Friday Downtown Art Stroll was well attended; more then 70 people circulated through the gallery.

Thirteen artists were showcased- each with a unique artistic medium, and vision for the future.

Art met activism, and dialogue was sparked. Gallery goers enjoyed conversation about the current political landscape of America, and how it is reflected in the arts.

As the night went on, our video booth installation became more and more popular. We partnered with the Vero Bach Wine and Film Festival to create a booth with a live video feed and asked those who participated “What movie most impacted your life?” Lots of fun as had by everyone who partook!

The silent auction was very successful, our artists donated 14 pieces and each was won by eager bidders. The Young Democrats would like to thank everyone who helped make this event a successful fundraiser for our organization.
