Statement from FDP Chair as National Hispanic Heritage Month Begins

September 15, 2021 marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This period of time, ending on October 15, will feature events and activities across the nation celebrating the history, influence and contributions of Hispanic-Americans to life in the United States.
In recognition of the beginning of this important month long period, Florida Democratic Party Chair Manny Diaz issued the following statement:
“National Hispanic Heritage Month gives us all an opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate the great history and important contributions of Hispanic-Americans to life in our country. As a proud Cuban-American, it has always been a great source of pride for me and a unique chance to both share my own story and that of my immigrant family, while learning more about the marvelous kaleidoscope of Hispanic cultures that have added so much to building, strengthening and diversifying our nation.
“To all Americans of Hispanic descent, from everyone at the Florida Democratic Party, congratulations on the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Your sacrifices, your rich culture and your contributions to our country are truly valued and cherished. ¡Felicidades!”
